Nine incoming senior students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) are hired for an intern slot at Mind Bullet Inc., a marketing positioning and public relations company.

This summer would heed the beginning of the internship/practicum program of the incoming fourth year mass communication students of PLM. They would be exposed in the world of mass media and other communication-related industries that have a vast field of interests like advertising, marketing, journalism and public relations.

The interns applied for OJT in Mind Bullet Inc. because of the company’s excellence among others and the belief that the abilities and talents they have mastered from years of erudition would be honed and enhanced by the company’s expertise and credibility.

The nine mass communication student-interns of PLM are Charmaine Amponin, Paolo Cayco, Dickson Comia, Geraldine Ferreras, Isabelle Gacho, Louie Manalo, Jearry Berg Roperos, Ann Margaret Sumilang and Enzo Toledo.

In an interview, Sumilang said that she’s not threatened of insecurities anymore in the future because Mind Bullet Inc. has contributed a lot in teaching her the realities of PR practices in the country. In line with this, Amponin said that she’s valuing all the efforts extended to them by Mind Bullet Inc. by sharing some thoughts on excellent management through PR. “And it’s really fun here in Mind Bullet Inc. The officers are really affable,” added Roperos.

The interns’ duties and responsibilities include the following: clipping of newspaper (live and on-line); blogging (on-line); monitoring of news (radio/print/on-line); on-line marketing; and observation and participation in brainstorming, discussions and workshops of the company’s PR practices.

Charmaine Amponin, also one of the practicumers commented that she finds Mind Bullet a great place for one to have his OJT. She added that superiors in the office know how to reach out and even teach the basics, themselves.

“They are hands-on and with that you’ll feel that they really care.” told Ann Margaret Sumilang, another intern.

Mind Bullet Inc. CEO/ President Mr. Eero Brillantes spends time sharing the intern his knowledge of the field despite his busy schedule. He ensures the students’ active participation during roundtable discussions and brainstorming. Moreover, students get to do the activities that Public Relations firms normally do like blogging, news clipping, news monitoring etc.

Burgundy Corporate Tower became an instant annex for Mass Communication students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Nine incoming 4th year PLMyer dominated Mind Bullet Inc., a market positioning and public relations company, this summer as it marks the start of the internship program of the said college.

As it became a trend, the field of Public Relations is chosen of these students among the various fields of interest in the mass media and other communication-related industries foe it deals with different disciplines like journalism and advertising.

“Aside from the fact that I really want an inside-office job, I prefer to be in a PR firm for it simply summarizes all that I’ve learned as a communication student: news monitoring both in the national dailies and the top radio stations, internet blogging, market positioning and advertising strategies, documentary making for advocacies, events planning and of course, dealing with different publics that is tantamount to socializing”, says Manalo.

According to Mind Bullet management, they are very willing to accept interns as much as nine without rejecting not even one because of their compassion to communication students for the two forerunners once took the same path in communication-related courses. And as practitioners, they would love to share their knowledge to future leaders.
